This epsiode is about how the global warming affects the Artic and Antaratic polar ice caps and glaciers around the chronosphere. It is a known fact that human forces resulted in extreme high emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. And as the zig zag graph that we all know, high CO2 = high surface temperature. Ok, looks like mankind is killing Earth.

 

Ok back to diseases ... My mother say, " Wa nowadays diseases more and more, now the things all worse than last time de things liao. More and more diseases also. " She is hinting that Mankind do lots of shit to Earth, and somehow casue genetic or bacteria viral mutation that causes all the diseases that spread around the world now. So the 'last time' world that my is our parents time is like all pure and all clean. hmmm. 'last time' where ppl dont have industry and technology , medical all poor poor, and we are all happy farmers farming happily away everyday to earn a living. RofL.

 

but the past are also always full of epidermics. One shockwave through the world , killing many many thousands or millions.

Everyone hopes. Started out as a bi-annual event in 1985 , it is now an annual event ( except years of olympics ) crowning the best in badminton as World champions.

 

In Singapore Open, Peter Gade was shown the exit by Anup Sridhar in 2nd round. In his interview, he said it was a shame and he trained TOO hard.

In Indonesian Open, he was axed by Taufik Hidayat in SF. In interview he commented on his improved fitness level and he was better than wat he expected. It was just a good practice for the upcoming World Championships.

 

Still without a Gold medal to his name, he set out to retire after Beijing. In which he didnt. RofL. Not that he should... Which brings me back to 2000, 吉新鹏 that bastard quickly disappeared at age 24 after winning Olympic GOld.

 

Which brings us to think. Where is Gade heading ? Still aiming at the World Championships that seemingly eluded him for the longest time?

 

Come August 10, WC will commerce in Hyderabad India. Anyone up for guesses who will take the WC Crown?

Today, on court and against both the odds and the crowd  - who clearly supported Lee Chong Wei , the 26 year old Vietnamese showed an incredible spirit.

Long time since i had a dream, or i actually rememebered it when i woke up. So here it is.

 

I dreamt that there is a OPen tournament at my void deck

 

Saw the mixed doubles team about to play... the INA team vs ( i dont remeber ) . After they stopped , i went forward and grabbed Nova Windianto's racket and asked him to play me. RofL. He did, and his shots have piercing speed to it. But i know he give water still. Then he AYEEEE  me a few times and then sent me diving palm first to the front left ( didnt retrieve that, i 不好意识 scratch his racket )

 

Then they asked me to grab my own racket and come down play haha. Went up, and Jef called, said he wanted to come over see them too.

Queueing outside Hello! Singtel @ West mall took me 40 mins. The bloody queue is like omgdeLong. Sunday 11.35am, ppl queueing up to get free HP is it. ( should have got it sat night...) From inside the store loop one round to outside , one dragon line stretching to the other Singtel Door.

Buy a phone like see doctor like that. See doctor get to sit down. This one u stand and move along. All this queue time, just to get a Queue number to be served by a counter personnel to bring u the Handset. Some jokers line up to ask funny questions, some fainted out of the line ( couldnt take the waiting time and removed themselves) , then got one gay infront of me , started argueing with the NUmber Giver at the [Xpress Queue].

 

Gayboy : so if i take the $8 rebate can i take the other plan as well?

Gayboy : ya im saying i didnt have the $8 before to start with.

Then i was told that tickets Music Monster will be given to me , after the purchase of my Handset at the cashier counter, so i proceeded there. Before making my payment , i asked about the tickets, and i was told that i wasnt under the student plan , and the ZOuk tickets only comes with the student plan. TOld the auntie i wasnt under the student plan. Obviously she thought im an idiot asking for something that im not entitled to have.

Asked her if she could check it out for me , cause the free tickets bundles together with the purchase of the phone, not to any plan i signed for.

She went away, came back and said sorry the tickets are " while stocks last " and there's no more left.

So i said, actually there should have been free tickets for me right.

She went away , came back holding a ticket , quietly never spoke a word and gave me the tix.

That charboh try to snook me sia.

If u watched the match, of Gade - Zhong Wei, u would have been standing on Gade's side. Such a good player, such a positive gaming attitude with no airs, no taunting. Truly an Ambassador of the game.

 

He lead at 16-13 in first set, on course to winning first set , and threw away the initiative. He slowed down the pace from there, and thats a mistake. Think it really didnt work against Lee Zhong Wei. Wanted to play less offensively to reduce unforced errors. Anyone who plays the game would have clearly seen his approach to cleaning up the set was too relaxed.. stopped pushing and thought the lead is enough to carry forward. ANd omg threw the set ... and the entire game away.

 

From then on, really no way back. Second set Lee Zhong Wei pushed the game even faster and Gade just couldnt keep up. Losting the first set is too much, when u know u had it. Mental + fatigue wrapped it up at 21-13 .

 

So thats its over for the 31 year old in this tournament, really thought about age in this experience. In professional sports , age plays a huge role in winning or losing. Zhong Wei's only 25, at his peak, while its really too far for Gade. He too had his 光荣时刻 when he was 8 years younger. Virtually unbeatable. ( No wonder 李聖傑 said Tennis wouldnt last and made his choice on another route, quoting that professional sporting can only last for 10 years)

 

Peter Høeg Gade made it clear that he will be retiring after Beijing this year. Why?

CAUSE HE BLOODY NEVER WON A SINGLE GOLD MEDAL IN HIS LIFE. omgoat.

Longest standing World number 1 ranking ( 62 weeks ) 1998 to 1999

Won 18 Global Open tournaments, 8 masters , 4 European championships ++ other miscellaneous

 

Most outstanding player but yet suay suay never won a Medal . Not at Olympics , nor a World Championship, nor a Thomas Cup medal (the latter i think his country too lousy to carry him)

At Olympic stage, 2000 and 2004, both players that knocked him out proceeded to take the Final Gold Medal.

2008 will be his last attempt to take a Medal , at age 31+ He has stated even if he never takes a medal back at the end of his career, he's still proud of wat his being doing.

 

On court he enjoys wat joy the sport brings him. Off court he enjoys wat joy life gives him. Family, music, wine. (His definitely going to be on my [Invite list] when its up)

Here's my summary of wat happened in Singapore Open this year. A little of a disappointment, but still a good watch.

 

Peter Gade played on persistently with a broken finger, and T. Hidayat got stomachache and decided not to come.

Lee Zhong Wei (MAS)  killed Mr Sashimi (JAP)  with his lightning speed over a period of 3 sets.

Missed watching the world's best diver play (Wong Choong Han) becasue i had to rush off to dinner and be back before 7pm, just to watch Mr SGboy lose the game with no usage of brain.

 

And this thing kept haunting me for all this time, 2007 when i saw Peter Gade boarding bus , and i didnt approach him for a picture.. really regret. Some things just dont come again. so...

MAtched and merged perfectly swee swee. You probably wont find another combo like them. Too bad they hate each others guts, and worst thing is they didnt become more popular after going solo. Their fan base was split into half, with 光良 taking a bigger pie ( casue he looks forever 18 yrs and is a genius) , but i still continually support both of them by DLing their albums.
